Allura's Haven

Long before Velvetglade rose to prominence, Allura’s Haven stood as a beacon of ambition and connection, founded by the Deerfolk matriarch Allura Hershkowitz.

Founded long before Velvetglade, Allura’s Haven owes its name and vision to the Deerfolk matriarch Allura Hershkowitz, officially established in 152 A.T.C. As a hub connecting distant lands like Concordia, Sunfire, and the Dragonstone Archipelago, the city quickly became a bustling crossroads of trade, culture and diplomacy.

Its docks constantly hum with activity: merchant ships unload exotic goods, carts rattle over cobblestones, and taverns overflow with travelers swapping news from far-flung regions. Despite its prosperity, Allura’s Haven has always carried a hint of edge. Its status as a major port invites not only merchants but opportunists: smuggling, covert deals, and shadowy negotiations thread through the city like invisible rivers beneath the open markets. These activities are not the result of neglect—far from it.

The Hershkowitz family maintains a presence in the city, overseeing trade and civic matters—but as the Commonwealth’s priorities shifted, vigilance over the port’s undercurrents became impossible to enforce entirely.

The streets of Allura’s Haven pulse with life. Market stalls spill over with silks, spices, and imported wares; artisans hammer away in their workshops; children dart between the docks, chasing dogs and kites alike. Lanterns glint off canal waters at night, while whispers of secret exchanges slip through alleyways. The city is alive in all its contrasts: wealth and grit, openness and secrecy, ambition and mischief.

Through it all, the legacy of Allura Hershkowitz endures. Her vision of connection and prosperity remains the city’s heartbeat, and while shadows linger at the edges, they are as much a mark of the city’s vitality as its bright, bustling streets. Allura’s Haven is not a city in decline—it is a city fully alive, where trade, intrigue, and ambition mingle in equal measure.
