King / Queen | Sovereign ruler of the entire kingdom of Lothen. Bears the Lion Crown and rules by divine right. |
Prince / Princess | Member of the royal Whiteshield family. Often governs a region, leads armies, or holds special royal privileges. |
Baron / Baroness | Noble ruler of a major city or large territory. Commands armies, grants knighthoods and appointments, and dispenses high justice (treason, noble crimes). Their rulings are final unless overturned by the monarch. |
Count / Countess | Vampire lord appointed by the crown to oversee a noble house under suspicion or royal scrutiny. Landless except for their personal estate, but acts as the monarch’s eyes and voice. |
Castellan | Ruler of a minor noble house or sworn keeper of a castle/stronghold. Enforces law in rural areas on behalf of their baron liege. |
Lord / Lady | Member of a noble house (siblings, cousins, children of a baron). Holds prestige and wealth; may bestow noble titles for heroic deeds regardless of birth. |
Patrician | Wealthy non-landed aristocrat with strong urban influence — usually rich merchant dynasties or ancient city bloodlines. |
Archpriest | Supreme leader of the Creed of the Final Light across the entire kingdom. |
Grand Priest | Head of a Grand Temple (usually one per major city). |
High Priest | Head of a High Temple within a city. |
Priest / Priestess | Leader of a regular city temple. |
Deacon | Leads small shrines or assists in larger temples. |
Acolyte | Temple apprentice and assistant. |
Lord Commander | Captain of a city’s guard and overall military forces. |
Sword Saint | The monarch’s personal champion and greatest living duelist. |
High Mage | Most senior sanctioned mage in a city; oversees all arcane matters. |
Court Mage | Spellcaster in direct service to a noble house or the crown; often an advisor. |
Magistrate | Chief legal authority in a city or large town. Conducts formal trials and handles moderate-to-major crimes and noble-commoner disputes. |
Guildmaster | Elected or hereditary leader of a city’s most powerful merchant or craft guild. Regulates trade and commerce. |
Knight | Sworn warrior of noble blood or merit. Leads troops, undertakes quests, grants knighthood to worthy individuals, and may deliver on-the-spot justice on roads and in villages. |
Squire | Young warrior-in-training who serves a knight and learns the arts of war and chivalry. |
