The city of Nalia is Lothen’s main port, located in the southernmost part of the kingdom. It connects with a large number of cities from various kingdoms, becoming a hub that attracts thousands of people. The city is troubled by crime and dangerous individuals, as port cities often are. The Rocks is a known, scenic district separated from the rest of Nalia. The city is small and rather crowded for its size, with buildings built close to each other forming narrow passes and alleys. The beach is huge and expands much further beyond the port.

Nalia was founded early in the Second Age of the world. Initially called Nusa, it was named after a Siren who allegedly lived near the beach and sang to the people. In the early years, the shore was filled with monsters arriving from the sea. The original port was located east of the current city, in a small bay where the Ilian Fort now lies in ruins.
When the city was built, the Lothenians ensured the construction of a majestic port to accommodate Lothen’s growing fleet, as Nalia’s port is the only significant port in all of Lothen. Nalia quickly became a gateway into Lothen but suffered greatly from frequent pirate raids along the southern shores of the Forklands.
Nalia became known to the world when the city’s shipmakers created a fleet set to explore the southern seas. In the following years, many naval battles occurred in the nearby waters, disputing dominion over the seas.
The historical plague that struck Lothen in 396 AC is said to have originated from ships arriving in Nalia from the uncharted seas of the west. During that time, very strict laws and quarantines were imposed, but the death toll was huge across all of the Forklands.
Nalia’s ships ferried the Lothenian army east to Exotia for the Battle of the Four Daughters. It was the kingdom’s greatest expedition since the First Age, and the task required immense preparations.
Nalia is situated in the southernmost part of Lothen, commanding a strategic vantage point over the Southern Seas.
Nalia is a bustling port city with an economy primarily based on trade. Every day, a large number of ships arrive and depart, importing and exporting a variety of goods. Piracy is considered the city’s greatest threat, prompting the local lord to implement stringent measures to protect the Lothenian fleet and ensure maritime security.
