Varangr, known as Warung to the Scyltheldish or Éimall to the Yrwinese, is the god of summer, nature, and the sun. He embodies life, warmth, and natural harmony—the nurturing force that brings the golden harvest and protects the ancient forests. Where Clērātas provides the initial plan for the world and Örgyár seeks its unmaking, Varangr preserves the balance of growth against the creeping cold.

He manifests as a radiant figure in white and gold, often accompanied by a boar known as Harusk, the symbol of summer’s wild strength. His holy symbol is the Sunburst Medallion, a gold disc with twelve rays, though in rural lands it is often a simple sun-wheel woven from straw.

Varangr’s influence is found in the blooming of crops, the strength of the community, and the hope that defies winter’s decay. He speaks in poetic wisdom, teaching that civilisation must live in harmony with nature rather than dominate it. Among mortals, he is the "Sunfather" to the Scyltheldish—a farmer-warrior with a sickle—and an androgynous guardian of orchards and singing winds to the Yrwinese.

In myth, Varangr is the son of Clērātas and the father of Ættǫrr. At the dawn of the world, he and his wife Auðmaer walked the Isles of Orkfjarr in an age of endless summer. When the first frost of Örgyár touched the earth, Auðmaer sacrificed herself to become the moon and the tides. Varangr did not weep, but instead turned into the storm and walked directly into the blizzard, never to be seen again. From this sacrifice, Summer was born—granting the world a yearly respite from the eternal cold. He remains in the Golden Grove, a hall of living wood where the hearth burns ever-bright, waiting for his eventual return.
