The Crossroads

Within the Realm of Liminalis, the currents of destiny and pathways of fortune all meet at a mysterious conjunction known as the Crossroads. It is here that fates can be made or unmade and reality rewritten. It is a font of knowledge both general and specific and the nexus for all that transpires. A boon to the Twiceborn from the Triad of Fate.

The Crossroads is a resource for all players and the location from which much of the game is administered. The staff at Crossroads are there to help with general queries, rules questions, and any game related activities that need to be logged or tracked. It is also the location where character information can be updated or altered.

The Crossroads will be present at every major Realm of Liminalis event, and possibly even some of the smaller ones. In all events, however, the Crossroads will only be open for specified hours each day. These hours will be published before each event.

Services Provided by the Crossroads

Point of Contact

If you have a question about game mechanics, need some direction on what you can do in-game, or have general inquiries about the event, the Crossroads can be a useful place to ask. If the staff there do not have the information, they will be able to direct you to those that do. As always, players are encouraged to ask any available staff they encounter for assistance, especially in an emergency. The Crossroads is just generally the most likely location in which to find members of the event team.

Character Check-In & Character Packets

The Crossroads is where players may pick up their character packets at the start of most events.

For Convergences, after arriving on site, checking in with the logistics team, and unpacking at assigned lodgings, players should proceed to the Crossroads to check-in their character and retrieve their packets. These packets typically contain the results of Downtime actions or starting resources (for new players) and plot documents like quests related to your chosen faction.

At smaller events, if the Crossroads is present, it may still be where players should check in after arriving on site. Specific and additional instructions about character check-in are provided ahead of each event.

Character Updates

Players should come to the Crossroads and speak with staff if they wish to change some aspect of their character, such as which faction they are part of, what skills they have spent character points on, the spelling or styling of their name. Players should also come speak to staff at the Crossroads if their current character has died or otherwise will be retired. In that event, players will have the opportunity to create a new character to play for the remainder of an event and beyond.

During or after your first Convergence, if you decide you do not like the abilities you picked, you may change all or several of them as you see fit. During and after your second Convergence and beyond, you can always refund one of your abilities and change it to another one. Players should speak to staff at the Crossroads if they wish to make use of these options.

Rituals

Any characters who perform a ritual must come to the Crossroads to turn in the Quantum Crystals to power the ritual and to fill out a Ritual Writ with the details of what was performed. Not all participants of a ritual need to be present when logging rituals; the leader or a designated proxy can hand in all required materials on behalf of the group.

Resource Hand-In

Resources may end up being spent in any number of ways, most often as part of crafting or to power a ritual. If some aspect of the game requires you to turn in or spend resources, you should come to the Crossroads to do so. Alternatively, if you are unable to hand them in at Crossroads for whatever reason, you may hand them in to another member of staff.

The Cauldron of Hila

Many rituals of the Transmutation School require resources or items to be placed into the Cauldron of Hila. This magical artifact is located at the Crossroads. Please consult a member of staff at the Crossroads before interacting with the Cauldron. If the Cauldron is currently in use, please be respectful and give the characters attending to it some space.

Enchanted Item Tags and Alchemical Item Cards

For Enchanted Items or Alchemical Items crafted during the event or acquired as a reward for a quest, you should come to Crossroads to receive the Alchemical Item card or the laminated Enchanted item tag to then affix to an appropriate phys-rep.

Completion of Prayer Quests

Players who answer prayers posted at the Menhir of Orisons must come to the Crossroads to log completion and receive the associated Faith rewards.

Harvesting Exchange

Remand unto the staff of the Crossroads all marine life, mineral discoveries, and floral samples acquired from the length and breadth of the Realm of Liminalis that they might be forthwith converted into usable goods for economic purposes.

Lost Property

You can come to the Crossroads to let us know about any items you have lost at this event or to turn in items you have found. You should also come to Crossroads to collect items of yours that have been found. Staff may have you fill out a lost property slip or other such document so that we can contact you if the missing item is found.
