You MUST attend the Combat Safety Talk and Demonstration at EACH EVENT you attend to be able to participate in combat.
Never touch another person’s body, kit, weapon, or shield with your hands.
Never make intentional bodily contact with another during combat.
Don’t use your hand or weapon to trap or grab another player’s hand or weapon.
Do not attempt to catch or deflect an arrow with your hand or weapon.
Do not fight under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Closed toed shoes are required for combat
You only take one damage per second per enemy
You should only try and hit your enemy once per second
It doesn’t matter if you are dual wielding, one damage per second per PERSON not per WEAPON
Head, Face, Neck, Groin, Hands, and Feet.
Exception for Projectiles (arrows, thrown weapons, packets): If a Projectile hits you in the hand or the foot, and you feel it, it counts as a legal hit. This is evidence that your opponent is taking care to avoid your other more sensitive non-target areas and shouldn't be penalized. (If you notice someone repeatedly intentionally TARGETING these areas, bring it up to a Marshal)
You should only be hitting people with a light tap that they can just feel.
If you are hitting someone wearing armor, you are going to have to increase the power behind your hit slightly so they can still feel it.
If the person cannot see you, they may not call blows. DO NOT call the blows for them, move where you can be seen.
We operate on an honor system, NEVER call someone else's blows or count strikes for them. NEVER say "I killed you" or "you're dead." You don't know how many HP someone has.
If someone is regularly not calling shots, tell a Marshal. If someone is regularly calling other people's shots, tell a Marshal.
If you have a friend who is maimed or downed, you can "carry them" to safety or a healer.
To roleplay carrying another player you must have a hand free.
If you intent to roleplay helping them walk, ask consent before you touch them.
You can move at a slow walk if you are "carrying" someone alone and a brisk walk if you have two people "carrying" someone
