The Shepherd’s Stone is a weathered monolith standing proudly at the edge of Trellsen’s pastures, believed to be as old as the village itself. Its surface is adorned with carvings of animals—goats, sheep, and others—that seem to come alive in the light of dawn and dusk. These carvings, said to have been etched by the village’s first settlers, are offerings to Syltharion, spirit of the wild and the protector of all who dwell in the lands around Trellsen.

The villagers believe that the stone holds protective powers over their livestock, and it’s a common sight to see small charms, woven wreaths, or flowers placed at its base, tokens of gratitude and requests for continued blessings. At the start of each season, villagers gather at the stone for a simple yet heartfelt ceremony led by Elda Corwick, the village elder. During these gatherings, offerings of milk, grain, and fresh herbs are placed on the stone, as Elda asks Syltharion to keep their herds healthy and safe.

Surrounded by grasses and wildflowers, the Shepherd’s Stone is both a landmark and a symbol of the bond between Trellsen and the natural world. It stands as a testament to the village’s respect for the land and its creatures, a place where the past and present meet in quiet reverence.
