Briarhill

Briarhill is a modest residential district on the edge of Altoria, home to artisans, lower-ranked soldiers, and common folk who prefer a quieter life away from the city center. Winding cobblestone lanes run between sturdy stone cottages with sloped roofs and hedge-lined gardens, and a large central well serves as both the neighborhood's water source and its gathering place. Life here is close and unhurried: children play in the streets, vendors sell produce and fresh bread, and neighbors trade meals and stories by lantern-light in the evenings. Its people are craftsfolk and old families, many rooted in the same homes for generations, not wealthy by Altoria's standards but proud of their district and quick to make newcomers welcome. The year's high points are its seasonal festivals, whose dancing, music, and feasting draw visitors from across the city.
