Steelfrost, also known as Stalhrim or Never-Melt-Ice, is a form of magical ice that never melts. It is mostly found on Teer or Skion around magical mountains or permafrost, or in mines that unearth its deposits. It is described as being hard as iron, unnaturally cold to touch, and nearly impossible to break by conventional means.

With proper enchanting and smithing techniques, it can be crafted into weapons, armor, artifacts, and even jewelry. The material has been linked to the lord of winter, Járni, as well as the giant-god Jörd.
