“Stone above, secrets below.” ~ Warden surveyor

Folks say Stonewarren Hold was meant to ride out the Scourge behind thick walls. When the outer works failed, the families seem to have gone under and sealed the vault beneath the tower. The tower still stands, big enough to swallow a small village whole, and a few explorers say they've walked its halls without trouble.

In the basement sits the sealed door to the old vault. The air feels wrong there, and time goes slippery in small ways: candle drips pause, then spill all at once; footsteps land a half beat late; people pat the same pocket twice and swear they didn’t. Visitors mark hours in chalk and compare them when they come back up.

Wardens have surveyed the site, logged the oddness, and moved on; now their leaders are weighing when, or whether, to attempt formal contact.
