Episode 43 Synopsis

The Deathless Flame gives the Grey Knights and Evenari a chance against Acuras's army, but holding its power consumes Normandy's concentration while the allied line suffers heavy losses. Bjorn organizes charges, withdrawals, and a final advance toward Keph's gate, while his unexpected command of plants brings a vision of young Magda amid golden vines. Inside the keep, Whisper uses a stone he once gave Helena to locate her beneath the castle. Torrin, Vyr, and Whisper find Helena beside the newly freed Demantrius, who destroys nearby enemies with shadow and recognizes Vyr's connection to the Oriun Blade. Demantrius reveals that Acuras used him to purify the blood of life and agrees to help the group reach his former captor.

Helena leads the group through the now-navigable halls, where Arthas and Aris confront them but accept her offer of a life for a life and leave Keph. The companions climb through Acuras's starving darkness to a sacrificial well on the mountaintop. Acuras takes control of Helena and cuts his own flesh over the well while reciting an Infernal invocation, causing red light to rise from whatever waits below. Torrin shields Helena with protective and twilight magic, but Vyr ultimately shatters her own X-Crystal with the Oriun Blade. The broken soul shard releases a light into Helena, relights her vial, and burns Acuras's blood from her body. A vision shows Vyr and the Blades of Nos battling six radiant Vanari in the Quiet Lands and creating the shard from the final survivor's stolen life. Helena returns to herself and turns against Acuras while Vyr's flaming oil destroys the well.

Demantrius joins the Harbingers against Acuras as chartreuse fire spreads across the Blood Lord's body. On the field below, Normandy forces the Deathless Flame to persist for one last round, Bjorn and Ernan break the enemy formation, and Cass slips beneath the portcullis to raise Keph's gate. The flame then disappears from the army's weapons, leaving the survivors exposed to the remaining host. Above them, Acuras attempts to escape as burning mist after Demantrius's eruption of shadow nearly destroys both sides. Demantrius raises the Oriun Blade, apologizes to the companions, and pulls their life essence into the weapon. He strikes the fleeing cloud in a tremendous explosion, and every Harbinger on the mountaintop collapses as the episode ends.
