Episode 42 Synopsis

Venfallas burns beneath a blood-red sky after Arthas Ventrex Elutharis leads the Blood Sorcerers beyond Acuras's orders. Ylvis hesitates when he recognizes his son during their duel, allowing Arthas to defeat him, while the slain Aris Lantrosa and other fallen sorcerers rise again after receiving their allies' blood. Arthas pours a mixture of Ylvis's and Acuras's blood into the Moon Lake, corrupting the source of the Evenari's immortality. Evenari across the realm convulse or die, the illusion concealing Venfallas begins to fail, and the mountains of Tyve appear beyond the collapsing veil. Arthas orders the surviving leaders killed but preserves Ylvis so his father can witness what has become of their people.

At Tch'nev, survivors from Eilinor report that a fanatical faction returned to the ruined glacier to serve an Argalus while Elendra arrives close to death. Torrin removes the blood-shadow sickness from her and contains it as a skeletal shadow dagger, leaving Elendra alive but far less visibly Evenari. Torrin and Vyr then examine the Tome of Stars. Opening it overwhelms Torrin with a vision of racing galaxies and seals his mouth, but Vyr closes the book before it can take him. Carrying the tome binds it to one of Vyr's attunements and fills the edge of her hearing with relentless static. Torrin also joins the two recovered Crystallic fragments and studies the ancient statue called the Primarch before discovering that his affinity with twilight can open one final passage into the dying Venfallas.

Normandy communes with the Deathless Flame and meets Emrys Valakar, who identifies Normandy as the fourth host and offers enough power to ignite an army's weapons once. Torrin rallies the Grey Knights of Ithelias and surviving Evenari, then leads them through the failing veil as it shatters behind them and leaves Venfallas physically joined to the lands near Keph. Normandy spreads chartreuse fire across the allied weapons, allowing them to inflict true death on the Lifeless Blood when Acuras sends his army to meet them. While the battle begins outside, Helena escapes Acuras's throne room and follows a prisoner's voice into a boiler chamber. She disables its machinery and opens a sealed cell, freeing the ancient Umtheran Demantrius.
