Deities

The religion of the Yrwin is the perhaps the most extensive religion in terms of monuments within Posia, with many stone circles to these gods scattered around Poseia before they were sent secluded in the Old Forests of Gwylenn following the Split and the Great Migrations.

Those that follow this religion, believe that following the death of the Éimall and Aisigin, the Yrwin came into being, and their children arrived carrying tales of their sacrifice and taught them what they knew.

Indeed, the Yrwin believe the Children still walk upon the plains of Poseia, while the Mother & Father watch over from the heavens. Their worship is commonly known as the Old Way, ever so named by many humans due to the nature of the Yrwin to offer sacrifices to their gods, a practice that has fallen out of favour with humans in most regions apart from a few small sects in Orkfjarr and Scyltheld.

They identify each god with an animal, due to the ability of the Gods to inhabit and number of forms as Teuyk. Indeed, a few amongst the Yrwin have tamed such wild beasts in order to get themselves closer to their gods.

Aril is the most revered God amongst the Yrwin, who she often chooses to appear as. The calming wife of Floric, she isn't oftenly worshipped in other cultures, who care not for her peaceful and animal loving nature.

The most revered members of the Gwylenn are the druids who dedicate their lives in service of the Gods. It is here that the stone circles originate, as they are constructed by these druids and are messages from the Gods that can only be known to those Druids.

Importantly, the only brutal part of the Yrwin religion is their act of death, while many non-druids will simply choose to die peacefully or of old age. Druids will typically choose to be sacrificed to the Gods so that their blood can nourish the forests of Gwylenn and allow new life to grow from their bodies.
