Army

The Army of Reynesse, like much of the continent, is not a standing army, but composed of the peasantry and personal leivies of the rulers of the land. While the Knights of Reynesse provide much of the defence in the south, from their autonomous duchy in Gelschris. The side effect of this is that ambitious and capable warriors with typically join the Knighthood for a wage and the potential for honour and glory. Leaving local lords with the few surviving seasoned knights of the duchy to join their service, hoping to garner some influence and land from the last years of their capable fighting years and the untrained ramble of the peasantry to make up their forces.

However, the populace of Reynesse is large, owing to its plentitude of pertile lands. For that reason, Reynesse can be expected to raise up to 40,000 soldiers, and 5,000 knights in times of desperation. However, these forces are not as well trained as their continental allies, would reduce the agricultural produce of the nation to almost nothing and, also relies on the continued loyalty of every lord in the land to respect their feudal allegiances to their lord. As a result of these factors, the typically Reynesse army tends to plateau out at around 15,000 conscripts of footmen and cavalry and 1,500 knights in the service of their individual lords.
