VEON - The Administrative and Executive Organ of the Nation

VEON controls, with near-totality, the Nation's daily life.

Few will ever specifically meet a member of VEON itself, but their decisions direct the entire weight of the Nation's industry and population to a goal.

Bearing a total membership of eighty, each controlled planet of the nation; Heimat, Rotfront, Leng, and Vineta, has twenty individuals who operate with almost unparalleled authority to direct the planet as-needed.

The full group of eighty meet only rarely, generally once or twice a year, given the issues of distance. The members of VEON are 'elected' by ORON, but in practice they are chosen beforehand due to the importance of the position.

There can be no failure, no incompetence. Only those with proven track-records, suitable connections, and reliability can be chosen.

They do not decide what receives individual funding to a granular level- your request for a clipboard does not go up the chain to VEON, but they decide in what direction the ship is steered and who must be provided the necessary resources to see it through.

Every Sektor of Rotfront marshals for additional funding from VEON-R, Lengish miners die for the quotas of VEON-L, Heimaten aristocrats attempt to bribe VEON-H, and Vinetan arcologies are maintained at the whim of VEON-V.

It is a powerful, respected, and extremely perilous position; the assassination of a member of VEON is a large prize for the Empire, while rivalries in the Politkerklasse can lead to any number of attempts to smear an active member to the point of withdrawal. This rarely happens, as a mixture of rightful paranoia and competence ensure the stability of VEONites in their roles.

The only thing that can ever, with certainty, lead to withdrawal is a continuous failure to meet Five-Year Plan expectations. The Nation cannot fall behind. No matter what.

There is no direct head of VEON, due to its nature.
