Alessia is one of the Nine Ladies of the Aurethian faith, the divine Lady of Love and Family. She governs enduring love, marriage, children, kinship, household loyalty, adoption, reconciliation, and the obligations created by family bonds. Aurethian marriages fall principally under her authority. Her virtue is Fidelity, the honoring of bonds genuinely undertaken. Her sin is Betrayal, knowingly turning those bonds against people who trusted in them.
Alessia is depicted as a woman in her late thirties of medium height with a sturdy, soft-bodied build, broad hips, strong arms, warm brown skin, chestnut-brown hair worn in a long braid over one shoulder, and large dark brown eyes. Her traditional likeness is deliberately mature rather than maidenly. She wears ordinary domestic clothing and is frequently shown with one hand resting over the other at her abdomen. Larger compositions often place children or family groups around her.
