Tessara is one of the Nine Ladies of the Aurethian faith, the divine Lady of Trade. She governs commerce, markets, merchants, money, bargaining, profitable enterprise, investment, and the movement of goods. Merchants, brokers, financiers, shopkeepers, and others entering commercial ventures commonly seek her favor. Her virtue is Enterprise, the productive movement of wealth and resources. Her sin is Hoarding, allowing wealth to become sterile through accumulation for its own sake.
Tessara is depicted as a woman of about fifty with a compact, solid build, sharp hazel eyes, prominent cheekbones, and dark auburn hair heavily streaked with silver. She often wears a slight, knowing smile. Her clothing is expensive but practical, with layered fabrics, fitted sleeves, good footwear, and several rings. She is commonly portrayed carrying a ledger beneath one arm or holding a merchant's balance weight between two fingers.
