Westhaven, the City of Honey, is an agrarian wonder, a refuge of life in an otherwise harsh world. The main town houses the modest Great Temple of Miorr while its many hamlets tend the fields and gardens of the rolling, green hills. The air is filled with the scent of flowers and tilled earth and buzzes with activity from more than just its many beehives as carts travel to and from the farms and meaderies. Westhaven's people are unassuming and gregarious, with a deep love for all things that grow. Burrowfolk and fairies have always had a strong presence here.
Westhaven is the home to the Great Temple to Miorr, god of Harvest and Home.
The population of Westhaven is primarily comprised of Burrowfolk and Fairy.
The landscape of Westhaven is comprised of gentle rolling hills, vast farmlands, and small cosy villages. The weather here is near perfect conditions year round, with the exception of a small rainy season in early summer.
Westhaven takes its inspiration and influence from the Shire of The Lord of the Rings, late medieval "cottagecore", and War of the Roses-era England with attire often consisting of stays, bodices, vests, and jerkins, patterned petticoats, and three-quarter trousers.
Westhaven economy is heavily agricultural, with the primary export being foodstuffs and mead/honey. However, Westhaven is also known as a tourist destination, with many groups coming here to sample the local meads and take a break from their fast-paced lives.
Westhaven lacks a centralized government. Instead each small village tends to look to its Tavernkeeper for guidance, and subsequently, anyone looking to assume ownership of a local inn has to be prepared to take on the mantle of community leader. These barkeeps are consulted about many matters and often asked to weigh in on disputes despite having no formal authority. One way or another, all news of the comings and goings is brought to them, and their establishments double as meeting halls for their neighbors more often than not.
It is believed that this practice stems from the Cataclysm itself when the last officially appointed Lord Mayor of Westhaven perished in the "Disturbance of the Barrows". In the turmoil of the disaster, the countryfolk of Westhaven flocked to the taverns and inns to seek shelter and "wait for the whole thing to blow over". In time the bounders and reeves of the villages managed to restore some semblance of order, but the people have never forgotten the steady hand of the Tavernkeepers in those troubling days.
The primary modes of transportation across Westhaven are via pony drawn cart and walking from village to village.
Westhaven is not fallen. Westhaven's primary defenses are not quite clear but the Bloodless just seem to avoid this place in general. Some scholars suspect the flora in the region may ward off the Bloodless similar to the Bloomguard phytomancy wards but that alone is unable to explain it.
