Darkgrove Isle refers to a small island on the northern edge of the Cometfall Sea east of Cinohshima. It contained a small abandoned village, but more importantly, it housed a large Temple of Varkanus.

Scrollkeeper Glynlan, nearing the end of his days, built the Varkanist Scroll Temple on Darkgrove Isle in 2E385 to seal his Black Scroll inside. The location of this scroll and temple faded into myth and legend, with the only map to it held by a giantess on the other side of the Blood Sea. The temple had colossal pipelines full of arcane blood, kept fresh via unholy magic.

In 3E450, the location of the island was discovered and both the Cult of Varkanus led by Genso Naoko as well as the Phoenix Nebula aided by the Crimson Navy fought here. The Nebula managed to defeat Dr. Genso in the Scroll Temple, claiming the scroll for themselves and delivering it to Amohr.
