Anchorage of Whispers

Forever shrouded in mist, a small pirate city is built inside a gigantic cavern under the island cliff. The anchorage is a literal safe haven for any pirate, but many try not to stop here for good reasons.

Among the many ships known to have docked is 'The Soft Whisper', a legendary ship that acted as the flagship of the illithilich pirate lord, 'Xaniv the Whisperer'. He commanded his fleet of 'loyal' followers from this city as his base of operations. A follower of Gunian and seeker of knowledge and secrets, you could have felt his presence the entire time you're at the anchorage. After his death, the city was taken over by Laoch Redfield.

The city also acts as a neutral zone with no fighting allowed. This was worse when Xaniv was in control, as no fighting is allowed lest they face the pride of Xaniv. This was no mere suggestion, as any sort of violence was met with swift judgement.

Areas of the city include:

The Lord's City. The main walled part of the city, where most people live. Some locations of interest include:

  • The Lord's Bathhouse, which was the residence of Xaniv the Whisperer when he controlled the city. A spiritual bathhouse providing many medicinal baths to any who would enter.

  • The Overrated Lion Pub, a tavern operated by a simhari family which welcomes panshera without any prejudice.

  • A magic bookstore where you can find scrolls of any variety.

Whispering Docks. The primary docks of the city, within the walls.

  • Maskah's Fish Store, run by an irritable drow named Maskah.

West Docks. The secondary docks where those would dock who do not want the extra scrutiny put on them on the main docks.

Cavestown. A part of the city mostly build into the cave walls with many underground homes and buildings.

  • The Purple Orange, a general store which is secretly an inn named 'The Silent Room'. You can only get to the inn through a hidden teleportation podium in the general store, and serves as one of the few spots in the city safe from the Whisperer... For those that know about it.

  • Uril's Herb Drinks, a roadside stall run by an older potentially insane tiefling who mixes together various medicines and juices to make drinks.

Sand Rock. A poorer area of the city made by refugees and pirates, in a generally open part of the cavern.
