Please review your inventory, character sheets, and active spells. We are picking up right in the middle of a very tense social encounter!
Last we left off…
The Rookery successfully breached the palace's inner circle. Leveraging the political weight of the rescued nobles, you secured a private audience with the Prince and his bride, laying bare the sprawling conspiracy threatening Gelnara. While the exact identities of the traitors remain a mystery, you confirmed the harsh reality: the enemies are already inside the gates, hiding among the security staff, the Thres Protectorate Symposium, and the Nachtshade Assembly.
Refusing to be caught off guard, the party immediately scattered to conduct tactical recon, scouting alternate escape routes from the castle grounds. To bypass the inevitable trap of the ceremony, a brilliant alternative was proposed: have the royal couple wed in secret before the actual wedding, turning the grand reception into a trap of your own to reveal who is moving against them.
To finalize these tactics, the royal couple invited the party to a private dinner. To make room in their schedule, they graciously moved their prior dinner engagements with "honored guests" up to a midday luncheon, inviting the Rookery to join them.
However, as the dining room doors opened, the meal turned into a psychological battlefield. The honored guests were none other than Dmitri Everhund and his wife, Lady Inarivyss Everhund—now formally introduced as the new head of the Everhund household. As plates are served and pleasantries are exchanged, the trap is set.
The Enemy Within: The plot against the royal couple involves members of their own security staff, the Thres Protectorate Symposium, and the Nachtshade Assembly.
The Preemptive Wedding: Some party members have proposed a secret wedding ceremony to outmaneuver the conspirators, though the logistics still need to be finalized with the Prince.
The Everhund Usurpation: Inarivyss has not only integrated herself into high society but has officially claimed the title of head of the Everhund household alongside Dmitri. Who is this mystery woman?
The Prince & The Bride: Now fully aware of the danger they are in, they are relying on the Rookery to help them avoid catastrophe.
Lord Dmitri & Lady Inarivyss Everhund: Currently sitting across from the party at the royal luncheon, hiding their true nature behind high-society smiles and political graces.
Narrative (The Luncheon): We are starting the next session right at the dining table. Think about how your character is reacting to Dmitri and Inarivyss. Are you playing along with the polite conversation, or are you preparing to push back?
Tactical (The Escape Plan): Review the recon you gathered regarding the alternate escape routes. If this lunch goes poorly, you will need to know your exits!
