Last we left off…
The party spent the day pulling on threads — and what came loose was bigger than expected. Cipher and Isadora broke into Assembly records and found the document that underpins everything: the legal amendment authorizing the Nachtshade Assembly's presence in Gelnara is forged. No seal, no vote, no Protectorate authority. Every operative, every Mirror of Truth, every displaced official — all of it built on paper someone invented and hoped no one would check. They also learned why Cipher-Keeper Thessaly Wraunt was the first person taken: she would have known the moment she saw it.
Ambassador Ysolde Fennrath-Vire is out of Assembly hands — pulled from an improvised detention point in the lower wards and furious about it in the most useful possible way. Marshal Corvyn Thessaly-Haunt and Countess Miravel Undross are located but not yet free. Tomorrow that changes. Then the party takes a forged document and two rescued nobles to the Prince, with two days left before the wedding and something in the undercity that Ryo can feel getting warmer.
The Nachtshade Assembly's legal mandate in Gelnara is forged. No legitimate Protectorate authorization exists for their presence or authority.
Cipher-Keeper Thessaly Wraunt was taken first because she alone could verify the forgery immediately.
Ambassador Ysolde Fennrath-Vire rescued from improvised Assembly detention. Active asset with diplomatic standing and firsthand knowledge of her abduction.
Marshal Corvyn Thessaly-Haunt confirmed held in an Assembly-controlled annex under fabricated military orders. Aide Drev Alston compliant under duress.
Countess Miravel Undross location identified. Removal was timed to prevent Flood-Gate Ward oversight of Assembly operations.
Corynn experienced an oracle vision: two skies overlapping, one constellation set alive, one dead.
Ryo's undercity investigation continues. The magical pull is intensifying and becoming directional.
