Last we left off…
Tensions reached a breaking point within The Rookery. Back at the inn, Viola confronted Erynn regarding her fading humanity, only to witness the terrifying moment where "Hope" vanished from Erynn’s eyes entirely. While the party wrestled with this loss, Cipher secured her place in the world by striking a deal with a terrified Master Farin regarding The Plough and Mirror.
The next morning, Hugh McMann’s whispers ignited the city. A massive insurrection surged toward the Magistrate's Rise. Riding the wave of the riot, the party charged the steps to confront Magistrate Valcrest during his public address. You currently stand at the foot of the podium, weapons drawn, as the Reflection prepares to speak.
The Reflection Weakness (Confirmed): The hypothesis was proven with devastating effect. Reflections are critically vulnerable to their own image.
The Shipping Manifests: Evidence found in the Magistrate's residence confirms the Nachtshade Assembly has been moving large shipments marked "Manifest Confirmed" toward Gelnara and the Borderlands.
The Circle Arrives: The massacre on the road—faceless bodies with slit throats and a silver coin stamped with a broken chain—signals the arrival of a third faction. Viola has identified them as "The Circle."
Verrinthar's Fate: The Archives were burned by retreating Nachtshade agents to hide their tracks. The Guard Captain now leads a provisional government.
Guard Captain (Verrinthar): Promoted to temporary leader of the city. She has granted the party access to the treasury and urged you to take the evidence to the Prince.
Magistrate Valcrest: Destroyed.
The Nachtshade Assembly: Fled the city, retreating toward their primary objectives.
Magistrate’s Private Treasury: Access granted by the Guard Captain (Specific gold/items to be distributed by GM).
The Plough and Mirror: Officially owned by Cipher. Note: It is designated a "Historical Monument" (survived the Great Fire), meaning renovations may be... bureaucratic.
The Shipping Manifests: Key evidence for the Prince.
The Silver Coin: A calling card found by Viola.
MECHANICAL: Level Up to 7!
Narrative:
Viola: The party now knows the name "The Circle." How much more are you willing to share?
Ryo/Erynn: You witnessed the carnage on the road. How does this brutal, silent violence compare to the flashy magic and shadowy spells of the Assembly?
