Welcome back!
Last we left off…
The Rookery uncovered the Assembly’s gruesome secret in the bowels of a decommissioned mill: Magistrate Valcrest is dead, his body decimated to cast a hollow Reflection. While the party successfully secured a fatal weakness—that the impostors fracture when shown their own image—the mission was marred by internal friction after Erynn’s lethal "whirlwind of blades" ignored the party’s plan for mercy. Now, with the city of Verrinthar descending into a riot fueled by Hugh McMann’s rumors, the group stands at a crossroads: stay to publicly unmask a monster and save a burning city, or flee for the capital of Gelnara before the Assembly closes the net.
Erynn's Condition: Erynn has lost the ability to feel "Hope." It has vanished from her emotional spectrum entirely.
The Reflection Plot: Confirmed that Magistrate Valcrest has been replaced. The Nachtshade Assembly is using Verrinthar as a testing ground.
The Weakness: Reflections fracture when confronted with their own perfect image or possibly intense light.
Master Farin: Former owner of The Plough and Mirror. He is liquidating his assets and preparing to flee.
Magistrate Valcrest: Identified as a high-ranking Reflection. Target acquired.
Hugh McMann: His influence has successfully destabilized the local government.
The Plough and Mirror: Cipher has struck a deal with Master Farin for ownership of the tavern, though the physical deed has not yet been handed over.
Valcrest Dossier: Proof of the replacement (found in previous session).
Narrative: Consider how your character feels about creating a power vacuum in Verrinthar. Are you liberators or anarchists?
Tactical: Review your inventory for reflective items (shields, mirrors, polished metal) for the upcoming fight.
