Leónopolis, the “City of Lions,” was once the undisputed jewel of Concordia. Its very name carried the weight of shining ambition — to be not only the proud home of the lionfolk but also a beacon of culture, indulgence, and trade for all peoples of the realm.

Its avenues were wide and sunlit, its arches gilded, its markets brimming with color and sound. For centuries, Leónopolis stood unchallenged as the largest and most influential city in Concordia. Yet time has begun to wear at its pride. Ever since the 223 ATC | Attack on Concordia's Royals, Leónopolis has suffered from a quiet but undeniable decline.

Citizens, merchants, and artisans have been leaving, not in an exodus but in a steady trickle — bound for new opportunities in Felisara, Pridelake, Leonaport Bay, and most of all, Costa del Rugido, which has drawn away both wealth and prestige, leaving Leónopolis in its shadow.

When King Anwar Orpaz was struck down by the poisoned blade of the Cult of Flamespawn, the royal family removed themselves to Costa Del Rugido, both for the king’s recovery and for the promise of its growing security. The move was meant to be temporary, yet the royal family did not return. Without the royal presence, Leónopolis lost the gravity that had long kept it at the heart of Concordia’s affairs.

Now, the city is governed by a small council. Pragmatic, capable, but lacking the vision of royal leadership. Their stewardship has kept Leónopolis alive, but the city no longer roars as it once did. Grand theaters remain open, though the crowds are thinner; sprawling markets sell goods, though fewer traders arrive from abroad. The wide boulevards still shine in the morning sun, but in the evenings, whole districts fall quieter than memory allows.

Still, Leónopolis endures. Its people remain fiercely proud, and the city retains the bones of magnificence: towering statues of lions, ancient plazas where the sound of music still rises, and great academies that continue to teach the lore of Concordia.

For those who remain, Leónopolis is not a relic but a wounded lion. Slower, perhaps, and more watchful, but far from defeated. Its future may lie in rediscovery rather than domination, in wisdom rather than splendor.

Named as the "City of Lions," Leónopolis stands as a testament to the might and unity of the lionfolk. The name signifies their aspiration to create a grand metropolis that would be the heart of trade, culture, and indulgence in the region.

Leónopolis is still the largest city of Concordia, however for the last ±25 years, the city has slowly been suffering from emigration, and many citizens have either moved to other cities such as Felisara, Pridelake, Leonaport Bay or for the majority to Costa del Rugido.

This trend started to appear after King Anwar Orpaz of Concordia was attacked by the Cult of Flamespawn, to aid in his recovery, the royal family moved to Costa del Rugido.

Currently the city is governed by a small council.
