The Arcane Path

Arcane Measure

All eligible individuals who pass the Arcane Measure must undergo specialized magical training within Rose.

Initiation

From a young age, Rosians are called to study magic alongside their general education. At this stage, they are considered School Students.

Academy Training

Upon completing their initial studies, Rosian students are admitted into one of the major Arcane Academies to pursue formal magical education. During this period, they are known as Academy Students. Graduates earn the title of Mage upon successful completion.

Apprenticeship

After graduation, Mages are expected to undertake a two-year Apprenticeship under the guidance of an established Mage. This stage is highly valued, as mentorship by a Mage of reputation greatly enhances one’s standing. During this time, apprentices serve their masters in all aspects of magical practice and daily responsibilities. After Apprenticeship, Mages typically choose between Tower or Military Training. All apprentices in Rose adopt a formal suffix to their name, acknowledging the master under whom they studied. The suffix takes the form: [Name] under [Master’s Name].

Tower Training

Designed for Mages seeking scholarly advancement, arcane prestige, and civic authority. Mages on this path often become educators, administrators, researchers, or future Magelords. Takes place in regional Towers of Learning or Thornholds under the guidance of a Magelord or High Magus. Involves advanced magical theory, spellcraft refinement, governance, research, and teaching methods.

Military Training

For Mages who wish to serve in Rose’s armed forces and defend the realm through strength and spell. Focuses on battlefield casting, spell coordination, defensive wards, dueling, and magical logistics. Includes combat drills, martial education, and small-unit command training.
