Episode 63 Synopsis

The Harbingers emerge from Keph into the Tangled One's fog and battle the ghosts and decaying servants hidden within it. A child spirit possesses Torin, Ernan is nearly killed, and the undead divide the group while Whisper and Vyr move invisibly toward the light at the storm's center. There they find the Tangled One beside Mathias Ephelthine. Vyr secretly paralyzes the goddess, allowing Whisper to stab her, tear away the anchor-shaped amulet binding Mathias, and smash it against the rock. His full power restored, Mathias attacks the Tangled One with multicolored lightning. A cloud collapses upon them, the fog and spirits vanish, and Whisper, Mathias, and the wounded goddess disappear.

Whisper awakens alone with the Tangled One inside her sea-worn cavern. His mortal weapons can wound her but cannot end her divine existence. Although Mathias urges him to embrace rage, ascend, and kill her, Whisper refuses to become her executioner or lose himself to vengeance. Mathias reveals a more human face and green, otherworldly eyes before confronting the Tangled One about the order that bound him and Zyltrix's abandonment of their ancient mission. He says he will make her forgotten, then disappears. The Tangled One directs Whisper to a coral portal pool. By concentrating upon his companions rather than a place, Whisper passes through it into Keph's reservoir and is carried back to the others by Torin.

At the Twilight Temple, Graham reunites with Whisper and confirms that Magna Neva sent her to protect him and kill him if his curse transformed him into something evil. Their reunion and the Harbingers' camaraderie cause an imprisoned Argylus to return briefly to its unfallen state, bless the group, and dissolve into starlight. The temple map identifies a Veyan treasure cave guarded by an ancient dragon, while Torin's compass reveals two remaining Crystallic fragments: one west by southwest beyond the known map and one within the Chained Fortress. Zandra explains that divine weapons can kill gods and identifies Callus as the enduring dragon god of dreams. That night, Sethis offers Torin a dark route around the Dios Ostium for forty-eight hours. At the Arcanium, Mathias appears before Horatio and declares that the protections barring him from the tower no longer hold.
