• Yurias Castus: An ancient, antlered priest of Phaedras from Teldoroth. The Tangled One imprisoned him beneath the sea after the corrupted Watchers exiled him roughly a millennium ago.

• Ahzarax: The golden dragon known as the Shield of the Vey. He arrives at Keph with Torin and Vyr, destroys Belgor'Vrack's well, and restores the paladins' divine connection.

• Silas: The new bearer of Helvaegan and vessel for the Deathless Flame. He struggles against the many souls and voices bound within it.

• Kethrick Voss: A prisoner held beneath the Shadow Claws' settlement and identified as a member of the Karin'Vare.

• Bjork's Mother: The masked matron of the Shadow Claws. She reveals her identity after the clan pledges itself to the Harbingers.

• Phaedras: The divine power served by Yurias and preserved through the Tome of Stars.

• Belgor'Vrack: The Blood God whose well at Keph serves as a divine conduit until Ahzarax destroys it.

• Shadow Claws: The barbarian clan that accepts Helena's vision of unity and joins the Harbingers' alliance.

• Karin'Vare: A lost barbarian people introduced through the Shadow Claws' prisoner, Kethrick Voss.

• Knights of Ithelias: The order that guards the Tome of Stars and agrees to place it in Yurias's care.

Creatures and Nature

• Watchers: A name shared by the elder antlered beings and the people of Teldoroth who were corrupted and assimilated by them. Yurias opposed that corruption.

• Helvaegan: Bjorn's all-blade and the current vessel for the Deathless Flame. Silas takes it against Bjorn's resistance.

• The Crystallic: A broken artifact being reassembled by the Harbingers. The fragment found beneath the sea leaves only one piece missing.

• Tome of Stars: A sacred book containing or channeling Phaedras's knowledge. It recognizes Yurias and reveals a destination within the heart of Tyve.

• Skjold's Helm: A symbol of rulership transformed by Helena when she pierces it with a spear and presents it as a standard of freely chosen unity.

• Watcher's Antler: A piece of antler willingly given to Helena by the mysterious Watcher in the Staring Woods.

Magic and Cosmology

• Deathless Flame: Emrys's chartreuse flame, now carried by Silas through Helvaegan. Normandy and many other souls remain bound within it.

• Tyve's Hungry Light: The Watcher's warning that the island's light is hungry and always watching, suggesting that light itself may be predatory or controlled.

• Exposed Seabed: The former domain of the Tangled One, uncovered when the sea retreats after her death. It contains centuries of drowned offerings, Yurias, a Crystallic fragment, and Bjorn's cloak.

• Staring Woods: The forest containing the Shadow Claws' territory and the Watcher encountered by Helena.

History and Lore

• Skjold: A shared ideal of freedom and unity rather than the authority of a single ruler. Helena gives that belief a new physical symbol.
