Episode 64 Synopsis

At the Twilight Temple, the Harbingers debate Sethis's offer to open a dark route around the Dios Ostium for forty-eight hours. Zandra warns Torin that divine power can consume the person beneath it, and that the sister he remembers may now be shaped by the beliefs of her followers. The group instead uses the damaged Tear to reach the Arcanium, where they find the tower devastated, Horatio Vinvestler missing, and Ariandre, Felcis, and Slip badly injured. The survivors identify the attacker as the newly freed Mathias Ephelthine, whose magic overwhelmed them almost instantly. Silence, the Argalus guarding the Arcanium, prevented their deaths. She offers to imprison the Harbingers' dangerous scepter within one of her shards, but they refuse to surrender it. Before leaving, Whisper accepts Silence's knowledge of the Argylus language and resists the madness it can cause.

After retrieving Danimal and the Shrikes, the Harbingers return to Keph and discover that roughly three hundred soldiers of the Chain are less than a day away. Nixon, Arthas, and Aeris introduce the ancient Blood Sorcerer Ephastasia, who offers to resurrect Acuras from Vyr's necklace so he can defend the keep as he did for centuries. The Harbingers reject the plan because of Acuras's enslavement and slaughter of Keph's people. Ephastasia instead tells them that to break the Chain, they must forge a chain of their own: the shared belief of many people can become real power. Zandra refuses to resume the divinity she surrendered, warning that becoming a god again would cost her identity, but she encourages the Harbingers to unite Keph around an idea rather than create another god.

Ilk then relays a vision from Cellus: the Harbingers' path will divide unless they accept a darker road together. The Tangled One must be slain, Keph must be saved, the scattered barbarian clans must be reunited, a dragon's treasure must be gathered, and Horatio must eventually be rescued. The group chooses to walk two by two: Whisper and Ernan will face the Tangled One, Torin and Vyr will seek the dragon, Helena and Bjork will approach the clans, and Bjorn and Normandy will remain to defend Keph. Before they separate, Bjorn declares that Skjold is no longer merely a man but an idea shared by everyone who chooses freedom, justice, and their own path. He entrusts Skjold's Helm to Bjork, and the people of Keph rally beneath a new belief: they are all Skjold.
