Episode 64: Plans for Planning | Roll Seekers | Light of Tyve Campaign, Episode 64

Episode 64 Glossary

Characters

  • Zandra: The name Cecil uses in Tyve. Once the goddess of fate, she surrendered divinity and warns that accepting the beliefs of followers again would cause her to lose herself.

  • Horatio Vinvestler: The archwizard held within the Arcanium. Mathias abducts him after overwhelming his apprentices.

  • Mathias Ephelthine: An ancient wizard recently freed from the Chained City. He defeats Ariandre, Felsis, and Slip, then takes Horatio for an unknown purpose.

  • Ariandre, Felsis, and Slip: Horatio's surviving associates. Silence protects them from Mathias, and the Harbingers heal them after the attack.

  • Silence: An Argylus aligned with the Crystalline Order who guards the prisoners beneath the Arcanium. She saves Horatio's associates and offers to seal the Harbingers' scepter within a prison shard.

  • Ephastasia: An ancient and independent Blood Sorcerer devoted to Belgor'Vrack. She explains how collective belief can form a power capable of opposing the Chain.

  • Acuras: The former ruler of Keph, now trapped within Vyr's necklace. Ephastasia offers to resurrect him, but the Harbingers refuse because of his enslavement and slaughter of Keph's people.

  • Ilk: The keeper of the Twilight Temple. He delivers Cellus's warning that the Harbingers must divide and pursue several urgent paths before those opportunities close.

  • Bjork: Bjorn's son. After clashing with Torin and his father over the gods and the future of the clans, he accepts Skjold's Helm and prepares to travel with Helena.

  • Danimal: The Harbingers' ally at the Arcanium. He continues planning an aqueduct before returning to Keph with the group.

Gods and Religion

  • Sethis: Torin's divine sister. She offers him a dark route around the Dios Ostium, but her motives and the effect of worship upon her identity remain uncertain.

  • Cellus: A divine power who warns the Harbingers through Ilk and blesses Whisper's crossbow.

  • Belgor'Vrack: The Blood God served by Ephastasia.

Organizations and Societies

  • The Chain: Draxus Kael's army of controlled soldiers. Roughly three hundred troops are force-marching toward Keph and are expected to arrive the following day.

  • The Crystalline Order: The order with which Silence claims shared purpose. Both seek to erase or imprison powers connected to the ending of worlds.

  • Blood Sorcerers: Practitioners who draw magical power from blood and souls. Nixon, Arthas, Aeris, and Ephastasia consider Acuras the most direct defense against the Chain.

  • Knights of Ithelias: Gavron's surviving knights at Keph. They prepare trenches, oil, barricades, and the gathered civilians for the coming siege.

  • The Barbarian Clans: The scattered peoples of Tyve whom Ilk says must be reunited. Helena and Bjork accept the first journey toward that alliance.

Items and Technology

  • The Tear: A damaged portal network used by the Harbingers. Its first attempt to reach the Arcanium nearly destroys a test rope, but the second opens safely.

  • Silence's Shards: Mirror-like prisons beneath the Arcanium. Silence offers to use one to contain the Harbingers' dangerous scepter.

  • Whisper's Crossbow: A weapon blessed by Cellus. Ilk confirms its divine origin, making it the Harbingers' best hope of killing the Tangled One.

  • Skjold's Helm: The symbol carried by Bjorn. He gives it to Bjork after redefining Skjold as a shared ideal rather than a single ruler.

Magic and Cosmology

  • Collective Belief: Ephastasia explains that a belief shared by many people can become real power capable of resisting the Chain.

Locations and Realms

  • Dios Ostium: The sealed passage at the heart of the Harbingers' larger mission. Sethis claims she can open a dark route around it for a limited time.

  • The Arcanium: Horatio's tower and the prison guarded by Silence. Mathias devastates its upper chambers and abducts Horatio.

History and Lore

  • Skjold: Once the identity of a single ruler, Skjold is redefined by Bjorn as a shared ideal of freedom, justice, and self-determination.
