Warriors

Within Scyltheld, there is a deep appreciation of skilled warriors. As while most of the army is made up of peasantry in the form of fyrds, under the Cyning himself, exists a small band of exceptionally skilled warriors, numbering around 500.

These are selected out of those who impress the most during their initial training, and is seen as a path by many to joining the nobility of the land, and escaping the peasantry. Therefore, they are well regarding amongst both the peasantry and the nobility and are typical selections for Wardrics once they are past their prime.

They are easily identified by their armour, which make them stand out against the less well-armed peasantry of the fyrds.

Food

Owing to the great and vast moorland that dominants the geography of Scyltheld, it is perhaps no surprise that the most popular dishes are typically of wild game, such as deer, hare and, pheasant. These higher regions are typically unsuited for mass farming, and grazing of sheep and cattle is seen as a better use of the land, with farmed grain uncommon other than in the lower regions of the valleys and coastlines. Instead, fruits such as crowberries, cranberries and, raspberries are used from everything from alcohol to sauces, while peat moss for bread and, wild honey typically pair well with the meats of Scyltheld.

In Scyltheld, ale is the most commonly drunk alcoholic drink, with mead reserved feasts and the halls of lords.
