The Geography of Cathringia can best be described as in two parts, either side of the Reissebruck Strait. The western portion of Cathringia, predominantly home to the Willahelm's is a wet and forested place, with swamps and fens dominating the land in the far south around Freistau and the Ruhe Forest occupying a dark and ominious place to the west. The eastern portion of Cathringia shares what could be described as an Intemare climate, with hot summers and mild winters along the coast, turning into a semi-arid climate in the interior surrounding Syagrium and the Odine river, the largest and most important river in Cathringia, linking Ostbader to Syagrium and Grenderstanz. Another defining feature of Eastern Cathringia is it's hilly terrain that breaks up the nation, allowing the rivers to flow through the valleys. Additionally, the forest of the Schadwite is unique in it's undergrowth of coal that was lit during the Ogkan-Cathringian Wars creating an eternally lit fire underneath the forest, turning it into a zone of dead trees and wildlife, with little able to survive there.
On the other hand, western Cathringia is mostly flat, surrounded by hills instead, forming Cathringia's natural borders with Gwylenn, Gelschris, Rivenmund and Reynesse.
The last notable feature of Cathringia is the island of Prenn or Prann, depending on who you ask, this island sits off the coast of Ehurszind and is known for it's hilly terrain. However, the island holds a large quantity of gold mines underneath its hills, although frequent infighting between the cities of Prenn and Prann do not allow for the island to make the most of its natural resources.
