One half of the Realm of Chaos is the plane now known as Shatterrealm. It is a hostile plane of varying landscapes, a composite 'planet' made up of shattered lands from other realms. It is a chaotic mix of merged and conquered planets. Sands mix with snow while pools of acid can mix with lush alien forests. Its denizens include most races that call the Astral Sea home, as well as people whose planets and planes got consumed into Shatterrealm. Many people from Abmarah have also ended up in the plane accidentally.

It was formed after the Realmshatter as a sort-of garbage dump of chaos by the god Mutrev. All the planes, planets, and realms that were too damaged to be saved from the chaos of the event were all combined into one. Now ruled only by might, Shatterrealm is a prime spot for piracy and illicit activity within the Astral Sea.

For nearly three hundred or so years, the plane was ruled with an iron fist by its first proper 'emperor', Khaz Jiik Han- an Omniborn general stranded in the realm who survived the extinction of his race somehow. He had conquered many planets and combined their landmass onto Shatterrealm itself, ruling from the capital city of Zeskahn. His rule was brought to an abrupt end during the Shatterworld Tournament held in 3E483, in which he defeated by the Krono Krew during the events of Shards of the Empire.
