The Isles of Orkfjarr are known for their rugged terrain and climate. Much of the coastline is composed of vastly wide and deep fjords. Deeper within the islands are great mountains and volcanos. Towards the south, great forests of pine and fir dominate the landscape, climbing up the spine of the mountains, whereby the further and further north one ventures the sparser and sparser these trees become, culminating into a vast cold tundra covered in dunes of snow and rocks of ice. Where the sea does meet the land at a shallower level, black sandy beaches can be found in the south while great frozen fields of ice resembling a great work of glass artwork dominate the northern beaches.

Compared to the mainland continent, the rivers of Orkfjarr are small and narrow, trickling down from the glacial deposits high in the mountains down towards the Thalhafus Sea. However, the largest of these rivers cascades down a great waterfall to the west of the valley in which Hermundr is found, and winds its way northeast where it meets the sea, meeting other tributaries its path.

What the island lacks in usable farmland, it makes up for in natural resources, with obsidian being a major component in jewellery, which is extracted from the mountains of fire that exist in the mountainous interior of the Isle. Jet is also a sought after gemstone, which is dug up within the forests that cover the Isles. Additionally, similarly to Scyltheld, iron from marshes and bogs is frequently produced here.

This geography has forced the Orkfjarric into mostly travelling by way of sea, or trekking across land on small Orkfjarric horses in the summer, or the more study reindeer in the winter months.
