The Peoples of Orkfjarr (The North-Islanders)

The Orkfjarric are the descendants of Ættǫrr and Íækvins, who chose to remain in the northern islands when the others sailed south. They are a hardy, tall, and pale folk who honour the old ways of snow and storm.

The Three Island Clans

  • The Fyrnara: The largest and most populous group, dwelling on the main island of Orkfjarr. Those in the far north of the isle endure year-round winters and possess a deep religious fervour, as they have the clearest view of the "Dreaming Lights" (the Aurora).

  • The Havrnara: Dwellers of the Isle of Vaetrlund. They are a resilient maritime people, shaped by the harsh winds and biting spray of the northernmost waters.

  • The Ysnara: Inhabitants of Lesser Orkfjarr. Like their kin, they are stoic and steadfast, though their island isolation has fostered a tight-knit, fiercely independent community.

Orkfjarric Physicality & Spirit

  • Look: Tall with skin as pale as snow. Blonde and brown hair are the most frequent, and eyes are almost universally a range of cold blue.

  • Traits: They are considered the hardiest of the human races. While the continental humans (Auresians, Reynessens) have softened or changed, the Orkfjarric remain much as they were at the dawn of the world.

  • Language: The differences between the Fyrnara, Havrnara, and Ysnara are negligible, consisting mostly of small regional accents and slight variations in the runes they carve.
