Thorne’s Archive is an ancient, cozy, and dimly lit study nestled in Briarhill. This space is both home and library to Darvell Thorne, an eccentric sage who has dedicated his life to the study of folklore, local legends, and urban myths. The room is dominated by tall, arched windows that filter in the light of the setting sun, casting long, golden shadows across the floor and illuminating the dust that swirls gently in the air.
Bookshelves, packed with dusty tomes and scrolls, line the walls from floor to ceiling, barely held in place by thick wooden beams that creak with age. The shelves are a labyrinth of knowledge, with ancient texts piled precariously atop one another, along with strange artifacts from forgotten corners of Eldranis—a rusty sword hilt, a cracked crystal orb, and a bundle of dried herbs tied with twine. A large, carved stone fireplace sits in the center of the room, crackling with a gentle fire, its mantel cluttered with peculiar trinkets and a portrait of an unknown city at dusk.
Darvell Thorne’s desk sits before the fire, a massive and worn piece of furniture strewn with parchment, inkpots, and quills, as well as various relics of dubious origin. Plants in clay pots, some mundane, others arcane, spill from the corners of the room, their vines creeping up the walls as if drawn to the vast knowledge contained within. The air smells faintly of old parchment, burning firewood, and the earthy scent of dried plants.
Thorne himself is often found poring over texts, surrounded by the quiet hum of knowledge and mystery, providing advice and insights to adventurers, scholars, or anyone curious enough to brave the legends and myths that shape Altoria. His archive is a place where secrets are whispered, stories come alive, and the boundaries between fact and fiction blur.
