Our first mini-campaign, we played this over three sessions during December 2021. A christmas-themed campaign, it followed a group of people around Vogh Vulfrhûn who were trying to save the festival of Hearthlight being spoiled by goblins, monstrosities, and ruin.
The first two IRL sessions only had 3 players and were DM'd during a holiday trip to Shimla. The last session was a Christmas IRL session played in Delhi.
The first two sessions only had three player characters:
Soliel - F Kalashtar Sun Soul Monk (Jinee)
Yorkir / Tim Burr - M Tiefling (Krros) Stars Druid (Devaanshu)
Pepe Pogchamp - M Rock Gnome Beastmaster Ranger
In the final session, three more characters joined in:
Oleg "Nil" Azimov - M Half-Orc Battlemaster Fighter (Daibik)
Alexei Reinhard - M Human Strength Paladin (Ruhani)
Floriano Groß - M Halfling Alchemist Artificer (Vijay)
Yorkir and Soleil, leading a caravan across the Kosmosi Mountains, teamed up with a ranger named Pepe after an ambush by goblins. Capturing a goblin named Dubs, they escorted him to Vogh Vulfrhûn. There, they met Knight Hanna Hirsch and the Lawkeeper, Rynnis Frosteye. After a heated discussion about the goblin clan targeting the city, they agreed to eliminate the Hobgoblin threat themselves alongisde Hanna, spending the night at a lively inn. Yorkir and Soleil realized that Yorkir is actually Soleil's lost father.
The next day, the group headed into the mountains with Dubs, who led them to a frozen lake hideout. Tim scouted the goblin camp in wildshape, and a battle ensued, culminating in the defeat of the Hobgoblin leader, Zaldrok. An avalanche followed, and after narrowly escaping, they spotted a cyclops. They ran until nightfall and camped.
In the Lawhall, Oleg, a miner, was revealed to be an ex-Lunar sniper. A Lunar soldier, Alexei, has shown up to recruit him back. Oleg refused to join the Ashfall Wars and learned about blocked mines and monster incursions. Yorkir's group, now including Oleg, Alexei, and an artificer named Floriano, headed into the mines to clear the infestation. They faced various dangers, including Rust Monsters and Kruthiks, and eventually emerged at sunset, accidentally stumbling into a Cyclops camp. After a tough battle, they defeated the Cyclopes and rushed back to the city for Hearthlight.
On Hearthlight Day, Oleg introduced Alexei and Pepe to his family. Yorkir, Soleil, and Hirsch enjoyed a meal, and Yorkir proposed to Hirsch, who refuses due to their short time knowing each other. However, they decided to travel to Timeron together.
