The namesake of the Jasivian Sea, the city of Jasiv on Mokai island was the first free city formed in the eastern Blood Sea after the cometfall. It became one of the three major cities of the Blood Sea in the second era, coming under the control of the Crimson Empire in the third. It now serves as the Empire’s capital in the sea, away from Sombus. With spanish aesthetics as well as langauge, it is a cultural icon of the sea only rivaled by the city of Taltigo of the Lunar Collective.

The city is built on the cliffs of Mokai island, and has many vertical neighborhoods built on hills. Amongst the high-class hill neighborhoods is the Blackwood Institute, a scientific college separate from the Carminus Universum. It is run by the Blackwood family, who are notable for their draconic ancestry.

In the center of the main market is a large statue of Emperor Sombra kneeling on top of a fallen Krros, and receiving Jakuna’s blessing. The statue draws a lot of visitors, and has become one of the key symbols of the city.

The main market also houses one of the most famous magical shops in the nation, the Laughing Skull. Run by Luqen Astreroxa, an undead noble, the shop exists in its own demiplane connected to the various cities of the Crimson Empire through its magical front door. Those that enter are always returned back to the city they entered from. There are rumors that the true actual location of the shop is not in a demiplane, but the city of Jasiv.
