Chymes Coblynálfr, also known by her titles the Dwarven Elf, the Limbforger, the Flayerfeller, and Fungusblood to name a few was a legendary hero of the first era and the Champion of Eurion. She was also the wife of the hero Aberdeen. Ben played her during the Lady of Rot one-shot.
Chymes was killed alongside all other scholars of the city of Nokren by their patron god Gunian in 1E880, and her soul was destroyed in the attack.
Her innovation into the creation of constructs was used as a basis for the development of Warforged a thousand years after her death.
Chymes was born on Draxaria to a prosperous merchant family, owning several planetary mines and exporting their goods. While her parents led her to their various outposts with the intent of training her to take over the business, Chymes became entranced with the mining itself, as well as the dwarves that were employed in them. She spent many of her formative years traveling to Zaeria and Rhosai and working deep in their depths. She learned Dwarven craftsmanship and decided to devote herself to creative works, renouncing her inheritance. She moved to the Primeworld for further studies, falling in love with a Dryad Wizard named Aberdeen and helping serve the people of the planet she came to call home.
Her first major innovation was exceptionally cheap magical prostheses, helping to replace the limbs her miner brethren would often lose in their dangerous work, as well as the wounded and handicapped anywhere she could. However, she wanted to go further with her studies. She began work on a biological alternative to magic, hoping to create new limbs that could grow into and with the people they were bonded with. Instead, she started stumbling toward the discovery of an entire new being. Her work with fungi and flora symbiosis, as well as their fauna integration, led to her Biomech, Io. She wasn’t truly conscious, but wasn’t just an empty machine to be controlled. She was a stepping stone towards an innovation of life, one only hampered by the technology of Chymes’s time. Despite this, she would always work on Io in the background of all other walks of her life.
Her efforts for discovery and protection led her to defend the Feywild and other major Abmarah cities from threats seeking to exploit or destroy them. Many heroic feats were attributed to her, from healing a corrupted Ley Line with a fungal growth that purified the magic to landing a pinpoint archery shot into the core of an Illithid War Machine from nearly a quarter of a mile away. She’s been given many epithets throughout her life: The Dwarven Elf, Limbforger, Flayerfeller, and Fungusblood to name a few. None of them truly capture the full image of Eurion’s Champion, a mad scientist with a heart of alloyed gold.

In 1E865, In the city of Ikariyus, Alphus summoned 4 heroes to Ikariyus Plaza: Chymes Coblynalfr, Orion the Space Pirate Queen, Wade the Warden, and Zarios Zoran Dedsel. There was a grave danger in Zeykaria: the demigod daughter and Champion of Nosos, Zurwen, had infested the city with fungal spores and corrupted the townsfolk. The mayor/zarios of the city, Zoran, had escaped and now sought help to save his city. After informing the heroes of the situation, the 5 boarded Orion's ship, the Andromeda, and soared off to hopefully end the disaster. Chymes explained that she had met Zurwen once defending the Feywild, but she seemed like a good person then.
Landing in Zeykaria, Zoran led the four with Alphus's blessing into an underground passage to slip into the city. Within, the party encountered a group of hulking fungus monsters: Necrohulks. They all spoke as one as part of Zurwen's hivemind, delivering Zurwen's declaration to the heroes that she would not stop her corruption. The party fought their way through the passageway and the streets of Zeykaria, facing numerous corrupted citizens and soldiers. After resting briefly, they continued toward the source of the growth, the Temple Plaza, facing a massive Fungal Troll to gain entry. Zurwen told the party of the vision of future her mother Nosos had seen, speaking of the age of doom to approach and the destruction of all rules of society as well as the fall of the gods. She had lost all faith in her purpose, and decided to gain power as nothing was going to matter anymore.
Zurwen had taken over the small temple of Nosos instead of the castle. Within the temple though, the party found a Fungal Domain, with Zurwen inside. Despite a final attempt to reason with her, Zurwen declared herself reborn as Zuggtmoy, the Demon Queen of Fungi, and showcased her dominion by destroying Chymes's Biomech Io (which used mycelium in its construction) and stripping her of her fungal armor. However, Chymes was blessed by her patron Eurion and given greater strength. The party fought desperately against the demon, Chymes being left a whisper from death while Wade and Zoran were both mind controlled by Zuggtmoy's spores. After invoking Alphus's blessing to restore themselves and summoning the goddess herself, Zuggtmoy was successfully banished to the Infinite Abyss. This freed all remaining citizens of the city from Zuggtmoy's infection. The party regrouped outside the temple and reveled in their victory at a bar alongside the goddess.
In 1E880, Gunian descended on the city of Nokren one fateful night alongside many minor gods, and unleashed terrible arcane destruction on the defenseless mages who followed him. Some say that he did this not out of zeal, but to gain the knowledge that the Nokren refused to share with him. Chymes was killed during this attack, and Gunian destroyed her soul leading to oblivion.
This betrayal of their patron god when they had already vowed to stay out of the war led to complete despair among the dying scholars, and the highest mages unleashed the woes of the city into a curse upon the gods that is unbreakable to this day. No longer would the gods have their invincibility, as the metal known as Azbantium (called Azbaan by the Omniborn) would be cursed to kill gods for the rest of time. Suddenly, the gods had a weakness. The Omniborn began to mass produce weapons made of Azbantium, and the fall of the gods was to follow now that they were on a more equal playing field.
Chymes is remembered as one of the greatest heroes of the first era and a legendary innovator. Her incomplete work on Io was used by Eurion and many others in 3E220 to create the first Warforged, Ultros.
