The Hourglass Caverns are desert caves within the Underdark under northern Aurial. Said to house a near constant sandstorm underground, they are considered extremely inhospitable and are known to be breeding grounds for purple worms.

Within the heart of the Hourglass Caverns is the Hourglass Temple, a now ruined structure that was built to house one of the time gears.
