This one-shot was played in August 2021, and was the very first one-shot we ran. It focused on the city of Dawress in 3E138 when their king Vaulik hired people to hunt down a werewolf for him. In the end, the party ended up aiding the werewolf instead, and deposing the king.
The characters hired by King Vaulik were:
Ba Sing Se - M Tortle Life Cleric (Devaanshu)
Silas Darkgraves - M Dhampir Hexblade Warlock (Daibik)
Ciaxe Fiercereach - F Leos Panshera Rune Knight Fighter (Titas)
Zaia Zoorrirrck - F Raptorin Living Weapon Monk (Tushnim)
Akemi Reed - M Variant Human Artillerist Artificer (Ruhani)
Karrl - M Hobgoblin Arcane Trickster Rogue (Vijay)
Six adventurers heading to Dawress encounterd a wolf pack led by a winter wolf, saving the farmer Wendell who was being attacked. The guards of the city saw this and led them in. They saw in the town square a man being executed for stealing a fruit basket, but the group managed to save him from execution by causing a fake 'divine intervention'. King Vaulik, a fanatical zealot of Jakuna, hired them to go hunt a werewolf for 1000 gold each. The group met a young Monk Kazeshi on his Journey of Discovery, who had been mapping the area. He drew a map for them and sent them on their way into the forest. They found out that Ba worships Attenos on the way. They encounterd the werewolf named Noreen on a moonlit night, and managed to almost take her down before she called for mercy and explained that she was innocent. They spent the night in her cabin with tomato soup, and vowed to take down the tyrannical king.
The adventurers headed back to Dawress around 10 AM the next day, and after a brief exchange with Kazeshi they went in to confront the King. After things went south, the King shots a radiant beam at Akemi, and a fight broke out. The adventurers managed to hold their own against all guards, Karrl taking down Captain Rhhen in the process. They killed the King together, using Ba Sing Se's shell to do so. After convincing the town to adopt democracy, they parted ways as Ba Sing Se passed into the next life by turning into petals.
