Daraza

Daraza of the North is a Saber Panshera character that is a senior member of the Blackreyne Brotherhood. Although one of its longest-serving members, he is not that old- he has simply spent over a century of Abmari time in the plane of the Feywild which has dilated his temporal age.

He was originally created for a separate campaign setting called Sregoph, but is a major NPC in Abmarah.

Biography

Daraza was born in the icy northern city of Whither in Skion. His childhood was an average one, growing up around his family's farmstead in the northern valley. However, that life came to an end when much of the valley including the farmlands were frozen over by a white dragon. Years later, he found work as a monster hunter and pathfinder for the local powers, taking bounties across the entire region acting as a ranger. He worked for the local cities, the Department of Dungeons, the Lunar Iron Territory, and even the Kingdom of Førland. These monster hunts were run of the mill such as dealing with ogres, trolls, owlbears, and the occasional lycanthrope or lesser vampire.

Eventually, Daraza ended up joining the Blackreyne Brotherhood a few years later and trained under Archhunter Elric Evervale at Night's End. At age 35, Archhunter Elric would send Daraza on a mission that has never ended, Mission #DZA-96. He sent Daraza to the Feywild and Viktor to the Shadowfell. In the Shadow-Wild, they both did their shared mission before splitting into the two realms.

While Viktor returned to Abmarah after 5 years, Daraza continued working in the Feywild to establish a Blackreyne presence there as well as keep an eye on both the archfey and the The Dark Hunt. He discovered new abilities and talents within the fey realm, which also slowly changed him with the most visible change being his new stag horns. While he only spent 10 years in the realm, decades upon decades would pass outside. Daraza left the Feywild occasionally every few years to visit Abmarah and Night's End. Since he had no loved ones, he was leaving no one behind in Abmarah who would miss him. He only met Archhunter Leonhardt Blackreyne a few times, and completely skipped the next two Archhunters due to the time dilation. Daraza kept a sketchbook of various creatures and monsters that he encountered over the years.

In his time in the Feywild, Daraza found and tamed a wolf-dragon that he named Yannes. Using him as a flying mount, his ranging became more effective as he could cover vast distances easily.

Tale of the Sunless Dunes

Check the main campaign page for the detailed plot summary.

When he was 45 during the Abmari date 3E467, he met the Chimera as well as Viera Blackreyne. He rescued them from the Shadow-Wild and led them to the town of Thither, ruled by a story-telling spider named Yarnspinner. Daraza promised to lead them to another portal back to the Material Plane. Back in the Shadow-Wild, they found Aklim, wounded from a fight with Gammus. Caeles had a sudden vision in which Sol demanded that he kill her, and he unknowingly stabbed Lucine in the heart as he did so. Time seemed to almost freeze as Lucine transformed into Sol, absorbing Aklim's divinity. In the chaos that followed, Viera, consumed by rage and blaming Caeles for Lucine's death, went berserk. The party and Daraza struggled to calm her down, and Aklim intervened, offering a chance to bring Lucine back. The group deciding to flee the forest back to Thither. Aklim revealed that her master, Deltus, was at Summermeet and could provide aid. As the party left, they bid farewell to Daraza.
