Zanisa Liiyevna Zolotova, the Reaper of Souls, better known as Ballista Aries, was a legendary hero of the First Era as well as one of the Ballista of Lunaria.
She used to be a member of the Golden Souls as one of Aethys' champions, before she became one of Kol-Han's initial disciples and joined the Lightwatchers. She was known to use both her soul-blessed Golden Scythe alongside a radiant pure-light scythe.
She was eventually defeated for good and her soul destroyed during The Light of Lunaria.
Biography
Golden Age
Zanisa was an Omniborn hero who came to be known as one of Ashus' reapers. Eventually however, she ended up joining the goddess Aethys as one of her chosen champions and a part of the Golden Souls.
She was a partner of Valkan Zuriel until his death, and later seemingly lost her way. Zanisa would then find meaning in the Pure Light, and became one of Kol-Han's initial disciples. He named her (Ballista) Aries, and she joined the Lightwatchers. She was eventually defeated and sealed away.
Reawakened
Aries was reawakened during the Lunar Revolution and would resume her duties as one of Kol-Han's right hands in this new age of Golden Triadism. She was assigned to advise House Karboniv, although she rarely did so.
In 3E452, she realized that Markal Zuriel, the holder of Lightclaw, was reawakened by the Phoenix Nebula during the Curse of the Blood Sea. She ambushed them alone on their way back from the Lightless Ruins, almost killing them and reaping the soul of Fa'azha. However, her ambition got the better of her, and she was defeated by them. She teleported away just in time, but her injuries were too harsh and she was put into stasis to heal. This allowed Ballista Gemini to take her role as Kol-Han's right hand.
Later in 3E500, she scryed on Gemini until he led her right to Markal in the heaven of Qaydar. She once again attacked Markal and the Darklight Crusaders alone, putting up a good fight until Dmitri managed to get a mortal would in. She was going to teleport again using her conditional spell, but Favian Giranenko counterspelled it and she was killed. Finally, Markal picked up her golden scythe and reaped her own soul with it, before he destroyed the scythe with Lightclaw.
