Count Roonan Deeprose is the Pirate Lord & Count of the city of Canau within the Lunar Sea. He used to be the owner of the Deep Rose ship and the Deeprose Rummery before both were taken over by Laoch Redfield of the Phoenix Nebula. He took over as the leader of Canau from Countess Fenya Cetrovna.
Biography
Roonan Deeprose was a young panshera pirate who grew up around the city of Tikius. He built up quite a reputation for himself as well as many riches. In 3E436, he built his flagship the Deep Rose as well as building the Deeprose Rummery on Makal island. However, he had many disagreements with Belanar Gullis and despised him.
In 3E450, he helped the cultist Dr. Genso set up a lab within his rummery where Roonan urged him to test out an abyssal plague on Tikius out of spite. This kicked off the events of Curse of the Blood Sea. His men ended up trying to steal an abyssal artifact from the Teal Star, sending the party that would become the Phoenix Nebula to Tikius.
The crew of the Nebula then chased Roonan's trail to the Anchorage of Whispers where they met both him and Genso talking to Xaniv the Whisperer. Upon Commodore Zolen's request, the party wanted to arrest him. Shoila betrayed them and joined Roonan who she worked for, and then the Nebula faced off against Roonan. At first, it was a one on one with him against Nyx, but it soon became an all out battle. He was beaten and arrested, with the Deep Rose escaping to Yube where it would be betrayed by Genso's cultists. Roonan blabbed everything to the Crimson authorities marking the Nebula as renegades. His ship and rummery were then taken over by Laoch Redfield.
Two years later, upon Commodore Zolen's request and bail payment, Roonan was freed from a top-secret Crimson prison where they used antimagic fields. He helped Laoch Redfield and the Nebula rescue Alastorm Redfield and Phaona Arrands from there, and seemed to be over losing his ship and rummery. In exchange, Roonan wanted Canau, and the party sort of promised to let him do whatever he wanted. At the end of the campaign when Fenya Cetrovna was returning from the Abyssgate, she mysteriously died, and Roonan took over her estate.
Timeline
3E408 - Roonan is born somewhere around Tikius.
3E436 - He builds both his ship the Deep Rose as well as the Deeprose Rummery.
3E450 - Roonan helps out cultist Dr. Genso and has him release an abyssal plague on Tikius. He is later apprehended by the crew of the Phoenix Nebula and sent to a Crimson Prison.
3E452 - He is released on Commodore Zolen's command, and then helps the Phoenix Nebula break out Laoch's parents from prison as well. In return, the party lets him usurp Canau from Fenya Cetrovna after her mysterious death post-Abyssgate.
