Erumaltu (एरुमाल्तु), often shortened to Eru, is the largest city within the Vyzum Wastes and the capital of the Vyzumi Republic. It was chosen as the capital of the Calamity Covenant as well to take supreme power away from Jamre and to be more central for the covenant as a whole. It was under the control of the Toofani Raj of the Kasaaqi Hukumat until about a century ago when it rebelled and created the Vyzumi Republic. Built on the banks of Hafra Lake, it is located on a rare fertile coast within the harsh desert. Its people are skilled fishermen and craftsmen, and its ports and workshops produce some of the finest goods within the covenant relying on steam and arcane industries. Its armies are primarily composed of ex-lunar rifle corps and former mercenaries.

Much like other kasaaqi colonies, it still has many cultural and religious aspects from the Kav’orra within it. However, Eru is shaped more by its natives as well as its aurian immigrant population. It is possibly the only non-lunarian city on Eqos to have Triadism as its largest religion. While the settlement of Erumaltu has been inhabited for thousands of years, the modern city is one formed from the complex multicultural identity of the vyzumi people. Its status as the newest major city of Eqos is part of why it became the capital of the Covenant instead of the other, more ancient cities.
