Kaitzur (ਕੇਟਜ਼ੁਰ or केत्ज़ुर) is the northernmost city of the Vyzum Wastes. Originally inhabited by edeni natives, it has been a part of nearly all of the factions of the area at one point or another. Its location on the banks of the Rethi River has made it so that it has been a part of the Dibayadi Empire, the Kasaaqi Hukumat, the Vyzumi Republic, and other factions throughout history. It has spent the majority of its recent history as a part of the Kasaaqi Hukumat, and is culturally more similar to the Kav’orra than the Vyzum or the Edeni. Kaitzur has historically been referred to as a “kav’orran” city, and its rulers House Obawan as a kav’orran mahaan house. Despite this, it is no longer a part of the Hukumat.
In 3E467, it formally joined the Calamity Covenant as an independent state. However, during the small war that year with the Hukumat, it was captured by them for a few years until its eventual reconquest by the Covenant in late 3E469. Since then, it became a part of the Vyzumi Republic instead of being reinstated as its own state. House Obawan, while no longer noble rulers of the city, are still the elected governors of Kaitzur. Kaitzur has a majority panshera population, and is inspired by real-life punjabi culture. It is the most fertile region of the Vyzum Wastes, and has deep ties with the neighboring city of Dibayad. The two cities have an overlap of culture and populations, and most of the people of the two cities have relatives in the other city across the border. As it stands right now, it is the only major city on the Rethi Riverbank that isn’t a part of the Hukumat.
