Esma is a mysterious haanari that is second-in-charge of the Seven's Carnival after Troupemaster Seven. She seems to have many underworld connections to organized crime.
In 3E442 while the carnival was at Port Cinoh, she dealt with the samurai when the Yakuza kidnapped Princess Aite from the carnival grounds during Demon of the Carnival. She didn't want to deal with any of the consequences affecting the carnival, and was in the know of many of the shady things going on there.
Esma met Laoch Redfield in 3E452 when the carnival was at Port Cinoh. After Laoch bested Yatra Athira in one-on-one combat, she tried to recruit Laoch but was rejected.
In 4E016 while the carnival was Sombus, she met Miri Tempest whose parents paid Esma to let her have a performance in the carnival. After the success of the carnival, Esma offered Miri a job with the troupe.
