Ljónarr Jomael, the Angel of Time, better known as Ballista Leo, was a Lightwatcher in the First Era as well as one of the Ballista of Lunaria. Before that, he was well known in Teer as a champion of the goddess of time Vurði.
He became one of Kol-Han's initial disciples and joined the Lightwatchers, but was defeated and sealed away until his reawakening in the Third Era when he became a Ballista. He was assigned to House Vanadiyin and became a military general of Lunaria, even fighting in major battles such as the Battle of Suneb.
He was eventually defeated for good during The Light of Lunaria by the Darklight Crusaders.
In the Primordial and First Eras, Ljónarr was known as the Angel of Time serving as a devoted servant to the goddess of time, Vurði. He was well respected as a hero in Meiðrism and known for his legendary devotion to maintaining the flow of time. His left arm was solidified into Chronostone through a failed early-chronomancy spell that he attempted.
However, when his goddess fell into her neverending slumber, around the same time he was radicalized by Kol-Han into following the Pure Light. Whether his faith was shaken after her slumber or if his betrayal is one of the reasons for her slumber is unknown. Becoming 'Leo', he ruled with the Lightwatchers for a few years before his defeat at the hands of the gods. To protect himself, he sealed himself away into chrono-stasis, only being reawakened by Kol-Han in the third era.
Leo was reawakened during the Lunar Revolution and would resume his duties as one of Kol-Han's followers in this new age of Golden Triadism. He was assigned to advise House Vanadiyin, and became one of their military commanders. He also oversaw much of the training of Ballista Gemini.
In 3E500, during the invasion of the Dark Hunt he was protecting Kol-Han's ritual. He attempted to stop the Darklight Crusaders from ascending the Golden Church, and rushed down to meet them. He was immediately attacked by his fellow-angel Markal, and the party managed to get past Leo’s chronomancy to kill him for good.
