Xoe Yizuko (born Yizuko Xoi) is an artificer that founded and runs Yizuko Labs in Sombus. Known for her prosthetics that she makes for the Crimson Empire, she was an ally of the Phoenix Nebula during Curse of the Blood Sea.
Xoe Yizuko was born to Cinohan immigrants in the Crimson city of Sombus. Her father Sokudo Yizuko as well as her mother Yameru Yizuko were both artificers working within the Carminus Universum. Xoe also attended the university as she grew up, and spent some time studying science at the Blackwood Institute as well. She learned primarily from Dr. Genso before he went insane.
In 3E441, her family lost a lot of their money and had to shut down the previous incarnation of Yizuko Labs after a mysterious incident around when she was 13. While her parents were content with simply working within the Carminus Universum, Xoe wanted to rebuild and reopen Yizuko Labs.
One of her most famous 'inventions' early-on were the mechanical legs that she wears. Her speed-legs allowed her to move faster than most people as well as deliver intense kicks. She studied under Dr. Baizo at the university for a long time, but then she had a bit of a falling out with him unknowing of his true identity.
In 3E450, Xoe was visiting the pirate island of Makal for her investigation into the old Omniborn ruins around Tikius. She ended up staying on the island longer than she intended when the city went into lockdown due to an abyssal plague, and then she discovered that the island was a supervolcano waiting to blow. She met the crew of the Phoenix Nebula while camping at the island's central lake. She ended up joining their crew as they went to the Anchorage of Whispers and Fort Rawan where her Crimson contacts ended up coming into use when she met Dr. Baizo again. Xoe then helped the party take down Pyrovain and save Tikius, and helped forge a scimitar for Laoch Redfield named Stormdancer out of meteoric metal.
At Port Cinoh, Xoe reconnected with her heritage a bit and attended the crew's bardoff during the Seven's Carnival. Later at Gravesbry when the Nebula was forced to become Crimson Privateers under Grand Admiral Isabeau, Xoe and Baizo helped build a pressurized submersible that allowed them to go underwater and meet the storm giant Amohr. Xoe then helped the party defeat Genso Naoko, and mourned 'Baizo' in her own way.
Two years later, she finally gathered enough money and influence to re-open Yikuzo Labs in Arkwich within the city of Sombus. She hired a gnome artificer named Faktoré, and started to develop prosthetic arms and legs for the Crimson Army. She met the crew of the Nebula again, who informed her that they'd defeated one of her old teachers, Dr. Volnax. She later helped Commodore Zolen with a prosthetic arm when the demons invaded through the open Abyssgate. Over the next few years, her prosthetics get famous world-wide and she gets government contracts for their production and development. In the next few decades, she would also be invited to the Carminus Universum as a guest lecturer occasionally.
At age 87 in 4E015, Xoe met Esther Bishop and began a relationship with her. However, after only 6 months of dating, she used the excuse of her criminal connections to break up with her. A year later in 4E016, she met Esther and the Six Reasons Why through her friend Vetri Aisana Yildiz.
