Eddai (एदाय or ᛁᛏᛏᛅᛁ) is a city within the Akshos Highlands on the western coast of Eqos. It is the capital of the Vurmark Raj and often said to be one of the newest major cities of the continent. Starting off as a second-era village within the highland coast, it was conquered by teerian varangians and built up into a city starting in 3E126.
It has become one of the key ports in the shipping routes between eastern and western Eqos, as well as the route towards the continent of Teer across the Goldroot Sea. Under the leadership of the royal House of Eddavin, Eddai is the centerpoint of the unique mixed culture of Vurmark that is inspired both by Scandinavian and Burmese cultures. They are known for their sages and religious record-keeping, having built a large dharmic library within Eddai. This is a push to turn Eddai into one of the holy cities of Ashtadharma and to bring in pilgrims and religious tourism.
Eddai has also become the centerpoint of the land trade route between the Swarna Authority and the Kasaaqi Hukumat as the road through the Km’mala Peaks heads directly east from the city. As such, trade and travelers have become essentially the biggest economic source of the city.
